JOB TITLE:	Quality Control (QC) Inspector / Engineer
JOB TYPE:	Full-time (8 Hour shift, Mon- Fri)
DEPARTMENT:	Quality Control Team
SALARY:	Negotiable (based on company regulations)
LOCATION:	LG Chem Construction Site Office (Columbus PJT, 1385 Charles Bell Road, Clarksville, TN)

 

Sungdo ENG USA, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector/Engineer to join our Quality Control Team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and installations conform to project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements at the battery plant construction site. The QC Inspector/Engineer will work closely with the project management, safety, and design teams to uphold the highest quality standards throughout all phases of construction.

-       Develop, implement, and maintain the project Quality Control Plan (QCP) in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.

-       Conduct daily inspections of construction activities including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation work to ensure compliance with project specifications and drawings.

-       Review and verify that all materials delivered to the job site meet the approved material specifications and submittals.

-       Perform and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely corrective actions are taken and closed out.

-       Coordinate and witness all required inspections, tests, and third-party testing activities (e.g., hydrostatic tests, welding inspections, concrete testing).

-       Review construction drawings, IFC (Issued for Construction) documents, and shop drawings to verify accuracy and compliance with project standards.

-       Maintain accurate and complete QC documentation including inspection reports, test records, material certifications, and daily logs.

-       Participate in project quality meetings and coordinate with subcontractors on quality-related issues.

-       Communicate quality findings and issues to the QC Manager and project team in a timely manner.

-       Support preparation and submission of quality documentation for client review and approval.

-       Ensure all inspection and test plans (ITPs) are followed by construction teams and subcontractors.

-       Comply with all site safety policies and procedures at all times.

 

Education:

-       Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

-       Associate's degree with relevant certifications and experience will be considered.

Experience:

-       3+ years of quality control experience in industrial construction, battery/semiconductor plant construction, or a related heavy construction environment.

-       Hands-on experience with piping, structural steel, mechanical equipment installation, or civil/concrete work inspections preferred.

-       Experience working with Korean EPC companies or in a Korean-American construction environment is a plus.

Certifications:

-       AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or equivalent certification preferred.

-       ICC, ACI, or relevant construction inspection certifications are desirable.

Skills:

-       Strong knowledge of construction quality standards, codes (ASME, ASTM, AISC, ACI, NFPA), and inspection techniques.

-       Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with construction management software preferred.

-       Excellent documentation, organizational, and reporting skills.

-       Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with multi-cultural project teams.

-       Bilingual in Korean and English is preferred but not required.

-       Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.

-       May require local business travel to support project needs.

-       Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
