JOB TITLE:	Safety Staff
JOB TYPE:	Full-time (8 Hour shift, Mon- Fri)
DEPARTMENT:	Safety Team
SALARY:	Negotiable (based on company regulations)
LOCATION:	LG Chem Construction Site Office (Columbus PJT, 1385 Charles Bell Road, Clarksville, TN)

 

Sungdo ENG USA, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Staff member to join our Safety Team at the LG Chem project site located in Clarksville, Tennessee. This role will support the Safety Manager in ensuring a safe working environment by monitoring safety compliance, implementing safety programs, and promoting a culture of safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent attention to detail, and the flexibility to travel or relocate as required for project needs.

 

This position involves working with a Korean company; therefore, Korean and English bilingual ability is required.

·         Assist the Safety Manager in executing the company’s safety strategy and promoting a zero-accident culture on the project(s).

·         Conduct daily safety inspections of the construction site to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.

·         Support the implementation of industry best practices to prevent Serious Injuries and Fatalities (SIFs).

·         Assist in managing and mentoring Trade Partners to establish effective safety programs onsite.

·         Provide technical support and share safety knowledge with the project team, focusing on hazardous energy control, crane lifts, and other high-risk activities.

·         Aid in the development and implementation of a Safety Management System (SMS) as needed.

·         Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to promote ongoing safety education and awareness.

·         Assist in the management of site-specific insurance programs and injury case management.

·         Collect, track, and analyze safety data to identify trends and improve safety efforts.

·         Assist in the procurement and maintenance of safety materials and equipment to support project needs.

·         Occasionally work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet project demands.

 

Experience:

·         1+ year of experience in construction safety or a related field.

·         Experience with OSHA regulations and safety compliance in construction environments.

Certifications:

·         OSHA 30-hour certification required.

·         Additional certifications such as First Aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, or other relevant safety certifications are preferred.

BCSP certifications such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) are desirable

Skills:

·         Korean and English bilingual ability required.

·         Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

·         Ability to identify and correct safety hazards in the field.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with safety management software.

·         Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Other:

·         Willingness to travel or relocate as needed for future projects.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

·         Flexibility to work occasional extended hours and weekends as project demands require.
