The Production Manager drives the success of Nexien through operational guidance of our plant
strategy to meet customer and consumer needs. The Production Manager leads overall subline
production objectives by setting production performance standards and aligning leadership to
achieve those standards, lives and breathes employee engagement, thrives off of change
management and embodies our core values: Responsible for the execution of all manufacturing
operations including Product, Planning, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Safety, Receiving and
Materials Controls, all in conformance with Nexien policies and all applicable regulatory and legal
requirements. Responsible for coordination and communication of the operations forecast,
including the identification of key financial operating risks and potential offsets.
The Production Manager is responsible for up to 100 employees both hourly and salaried in
operations as well as the support functions at our client’s plant setting.
Key Responsibilities and Major Tasks
● Distribute production schedules and work orders to the production assembly department
● Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing spreadsheets to
determine personnel or materials requirements and priorities
● Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material
shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, human
resources, production, quality control or engineering
● Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, or
quality control measures
● Compile information, such as production rates and progress, assembly materials
inventories, materials used, or customer information, to complete status reports
● Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences, personnel
schedules, and maintenance, or repair orders
● Ability to start up, operate, and shut down all equipment
● Maintain high standards with regards to housekeeping policies that are essential for the
safe operation of the plant
● Monitor all systems while performing periodic rounds to assure safe and efficient operation
of the plant
● Maintain communication with all departments to assure smooth operation of all areas of
the facility
● Assist all departments with any and all resources to attain the highest quality and
production output
● Lead on situations that arise to analyze and pursue an effective course of action
● Able to delegate work assignments to employees
● Accounting for time and manpower for production staff
● Ability to delegate assignments to production staff to run daily operations efficiently
● Must be willing and able to perform confined space entry and rescue duties to include:
Perform special confined space related duties, such as pass a fit test and maintain
respirator qualifications
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree required; engineering degree preferred
● Minimum 10+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
Previous plant management experience preferred
● Demonstrated leadership of safety initiatives
● Demonstrated track record of understanding and applying continuous improvement
principles
● Demonstrated excellent practices including Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and/or Lean Six
Sigma
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Experience building & enabling high performing teams delivering exceptional results on a
consistent basis
● Growth and continuous learning and development mindset
● Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence across all levels of
employees
● 5+ years of experience in safety practices is preferred
