1. Position: Business & Corporate Development at Strategic Planning Part
Overview : As a key hub for Kolon Group’s North American business, this position is responsible for strengthening the competitiveness of existing businesses, identifying new growth opportunities, and designing and executing mid-to-long-term growth strategies in North America through strategic partnerships and investments.
2. Key Responsibilities
a. Corporate & Business Strategy
i. North America Market Analysis & Insights
• Analyze North American market trends across existing and new business areas
• Conduct upstream/downstream industry structure and value chain analysis
• Assess strategic fit between internal capabilities and external market opportunities
ii. Enhancing Competitiveness of Existing Businesses
• Benchmark competitors and analyze strategic positioning
• Conduct customer segmentation and develop key account strategies
• Develop business expansion strategies (market expansion, product extension, partnership models, etc.)
• Identify synergies and cross-selling opportunities across business units and affiliates
iii. New Business Opportunity Identification & Market Entry Strategy
• Explore new opportunities in strategic focus areas such as advanced materials, space/defense, and energy
• Develop and execute market entry strategies (Greenfield, JV, Partnerships, M&A structuring, etc.)
• Build mid-to-long-term growth roadmaps
b. Business Development
i. Develop optimal operating strategies for North American expansion
ii. Proactively identify and outreach to strategic partners and customers
iii. Structure partnerships and joint ventures
iv. Support deal structuring and negotiations
v. Support pilot projects and early-stage commercialization
c. Strategic Investment
i. Source deal targets (M&A, JVs, minority/seed investments, etc.)
ii. Conduct commercial due diligence
iii. Evaluate investment rationale and expected impact (valuation, synergies, strategic fit, etc.)
iv. Develop action plans and collaborate with relevant affiliates/business units
v. Execute investment processes including outreach, negotiations, and contracting
3. Qualifications
a. Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience
b. Requirements
i. Core Requirements
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to structure business opportunities
• Financial acumen to assess business and investment feasibility
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
ii. Relevant Experience (at least one of the following)
• Business development or strategic partnership experience
• Corporate strategy or strategy consulting experience (PM or core contributor experience preferred)
• Investment or commercial due diligence experience (M&A, minority investments, corporate development, etc.)
c. Preferred Qualifications
i. Experience in the North American market
ii. Background in manufacturing, industrials, or advanced materials
iii. Deal execution/closing experience for investments or partnerships
