Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Senior Quality Engineer role located in Alexander City, AL. The Senior Quality Engineer will oversee and improve quality‑related processes to ensure all products meet required standards. Daily tasks include performing quality inspections, applying quality‑assurance practices, reviewing product performance, and developing quality‑control strategies. The role also involves working closely with internal teams to identify concerns and assist with resolving quality‑related issues.

Essential Functions

• Create and apply inspection plans and key quality indicators for incoming supplies, including headlamp and mirror system parts, confirming compliance with required quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate and conduct tests and evaluations on incoming supplies to verify suitability for production use.
• Apply various test procedures to assess material features and performance.
• Identify, review, and report any issues or non‑conformities found in incoming supplies.
• Work with engineering teams to determine root causes and support actions that prevent recurrence.
• Partner with production, engineering, and purchasing to resolve quality concerns and ensure smooth integration of incoming supplies into production.
• Develop and launch improvements that strengthen quality‑control activities and boost efficiency.
• Evaluate and respond to customer concerns regarding quality‑related matters.
• Train and guide local team members on quality practices, inspection steps, and standards.
• Partner with suppliers to confirm incoming‑part quality and perform supplier audits.
• Provide quality input for new product launches, including reviewing new suppliers and new supply sources.
• Review and manage risks tied to incoming supplies and their impact on production and product performance.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma concepts to elevate quality‑control activities.
• Confirm that all incoming supplies comply with industry rules and standards, including those related to automotive lighting and mirror systems.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial, or related engineering fields.
• More than 10 years of experience in the automotive‑parts quality field preferred.
• Strong skill in solving quality concerns.
• Ability to perform a wide range of test approaches.
• Strong analytical skill in reviewing quality data.
