Position Overview
As a Junior Estimator at KB Link, you will support the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates for industrial construction projects. This entry-level role is designed for individuals with foundational knowledge of construction and a strong interest in learning the estimating process. You will work under the guidance of senior estimators and project managers, assisting with quantity takeoffs, reviewing project plans, and gathering cost data. This position offers a strong career path in construction estimating and project management.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Cost Estimation Support

• Assist in preparing preliminary and detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings, plans, and specifications under supervision.
• Research material and labor pricing to maintain accurate and up-to-date cost data.
• Help ensure estimates are aligned with project scope, schedule, and client requirements.

Project Support

• Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications with guidance from senior team members.
• Assist in preparing bid documents and proposals for client submission.
• Track subcontractor and supplier quotes and maintain organized estimate files.
• Support the team in preparing budgets, schedules, and reports as needed.

Collaboration & Development

• Work closely with estimators, engineers, and project managers to gain exposure to all phases of project planning and execution.
• Participate in internal and external meetings, taking notes and providing follow-up information.
• Contribute to maintaining positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Actively learn company processes, safety practices, and industry standards to progress into higher-level estimating responsibilities.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications (familiarity with CAD is required).
• Proficiency in both Korean and English (spoken and written) is essential.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn, self-motivated, and a team player.

 

Education and Experience

•         Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related degree is required

• 2-3 years of experience in Estimation and Project Engineering.
• Strong organizational skills.
• A full understanding of how to read and interpret construction plans, CAD drawings and specifications.
• Detail-oriented and effective communication skills.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Familiar with OSHA requirements.
• A thorough understanding of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project
