Summary
Primarily responsible for ensuring building projects remain within budget through providing cost and material estimates, drawing up projected budgets, analyzing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, and building relationships with clients and managers.
Minimum Qualifications
Education –Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related area.
3 years experience in Construction industry or consulting firms as follows:
Prepare, advancing and defending construction claims (Payment, Change, Entitlement, Final Account, etc.)
Construction budgeting, estimating and cost accounting experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
MRICS or equivalent qualifications (preferred).
Delay and Quantum Analysis experiences (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong ability to manage and deal with complex issues, tasks and projects.
Strong ability to draft contractual correspondences, communication and presentation.
Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills.
In-depth knowledge and experience in contract management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports.
Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry.
Professional integrity and sense of responsibility and accountability.
Essential Functions
Identify events and collate all appropriate evidence to help initiate and coordinate the preparation, negotiation, and settlement of change orders, claims and counterclaims.
Assist the Claims Manager in analyzing commercial and contractual issues toward clients/subcontractors.
Review subcontracts and formulate opinions in regards to contractual and legal entitlements.
Draft official letter(s) or email correspondences to the relevant parties.
Participate in and support meetings, negotiations, etc.
Manage and handle claims and event logs.
Assist and prepare commercial negotiation (valuation, negotiation, and settlement).
Assist the subcontracting and procurement activities, if needed.
Monitor and manage compliance with the contractual obligations of the parties, if needed.
Keep positive communications with all stakeholders and other internal/external departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Salary range : 80-150, depend on career
- Preferred experience : Paralegal
