CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER – ENTRY LEVEL
DESCRIPTION
The Project Engineer will provide support to the Project Manager by assisting in the management of job sites, including daily productions, safety, labor and equipment scheduling, and management of subcontractors. The specific responsibilities of the Project Engineer will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Daily management of subcontractors, monitoring their performance, and ensuring contract compliance
• Management of the project construction schedule and working with others to provide forecast schedule
• Reviewing and gathering product submittals and shop drawings against specifications for compliance
• Ensuring all the construction team members in the field have the latest site specific work plan, drawings, and product submittals, management tools, forms and procedures, etc. necessary for the work
• Coordinating day-to-day field activities between different functions such as management, procurement, construction, engineering, project controls, document controls, etc.
• Creating and tracking RFI’s, change requests, correspondence, non-compliances, etc. that are related to construction
• Maintaining a daily job report, which must include daily progress of the project and document all unusual incidents such as injuries or any unplanned job site occurrence
• Collaborating with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees
• Ensuring that personnel engages in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards
• Providing feedback to, and working in association with, the Administrative Project Coordinator in his/her assigned duties
• Other duties as assigned
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Candidates must be organized and capable of confident leadership in order to control the success of their assigned projects and duties and to help meet schedules and completion dates.
Candidates must have good computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft office suite programs. Also must display strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Experience in Civil and industrial building construction is a plus.
This position requires a valid driver’s license.
The Company can support your Working Visa / Green Card.
LOCATION
Travel will be required as our projects are located at Taxas, Indiana, Georgia.
This is an hourly position. Salary is negotiable.
