Product Designer (Bilingual Korean & English)

Position Title: Product Designer

Organization:  LX Hausys America, Inc.

Location: Corporate Office in Alpharetta, GA & Plant in Adairsville, GA

Reports to: Director of Surfaces Product Development

Position Summary: Creating and developing new product designs and patterns for HIMACS and VIATERA as well as the Surfaces Division as a whole. Provide assistance to the Design director in tasks delegated. Aiding marketing and sales team by providing marketing resources and concepts for new products, and giving presentations internally and externally to promote new products. Supporting and mentoring for career and design growth.

Role Description:

• The creation, development, analysis, and research of new product designs and patterns for HIMACS and VIATERA. 
• Generating color & pattern samples for product development and customer meetings (THD, Lowe’s, etc)
• Ideating for innovative production technology to enhance design and manufacturability of new products. 
• Collaborating with technical team on executing innovative production technologies
• Collaborating with design leadership to evolve our design process to ensure we’re creating great consistent product.

Responsibilities:

• Create Design Rational and Presentations to new design launches, to support marketing and sales, and work closely with Product Planning, Marketing and Product Management team to support for design launch needs
• Develop new HIMACS, VIATERA, and TERACANTO designs by working and collaborating with Product Planning, PM and Technical team
• Analyze competitor’s design and customer requirements.
• Perform regularly competitor design analysis on HIMACS, VIATERA, and TERACANTO
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers.
• Collaborate with HQ Design Center or external experts. 
• Understand general and new technical manufacturing process for developing new products
• Develop design strategies and concepts.
• Develop prototypes and evaluate test samples / color matching.
• Improve existing products as needed.
• Present design & trend proposal to customers at internal and external events
• Manage outsourced designs by working with product planning 

Requirements

Qualifications: Listed below are the minimum and/or desired qualifications of the position including education, work experience and knowledge & skills that are required to perform satisfactorily in the position:

Education and Work Experience:

· Undergraduate degree in textile, graphic, interior, industrial design or related field.

· 4+ years experience in product design preferred

· Direct experience in designing Quartz and/or Solid Surfaces preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

· MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

· Adobe Photoshop

· Illustrator

· Design related software programs

· Interpersonal skills

· Detail Oriented

· Organizational Skills

· Initiative skills

· Problem solving skills

· Great Social and Communication Skills

· Great Oral and Written Communication Skills

Physical Demands: 

· Position requires regular interaction with customers and clients.

· Position requires sitting at a desk working on a computer for at least 2/3 of time.

· Position requires minimal lifting up to 20lbs.

· Position requires regular and reliable attendance.

· Position requires travel up to 20% of time.
