Responsibilities
•Design and develop structure components and systems for North America base new vehicles, including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles
•Conduct research and analysis to develop innovative solutions and implement own concepts and ideas into a new vehicle project
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of body structure systems with other vehicle subsystems
•Investigate quality, assembly, and durability issues and design engineering improvements
•Review part and system performance and regulatory testing and be able to interpret test results
•Support the creation and maintenance of engineering documentation, including design specifications and validation reports
•Estimate and create cost/mass targets for component parts
•Participate in benchmarking activities
•Communicate and cooperate closely between North American affiliates and Korean headquarters
•Use CATIA V5 (or other engineering tools) to create and modify 2D and 3D Drawings
•Travel up to 20% of time domestically and/or internationally: South Korea travel for early development and North American plant travel for pre-production build support

Job description
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientated Entry Level Body Structure Engineer to join our team for our Superior Township, MI facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in mechanical engineer or a related field, with an interest in automotive design and engineering.

The responsibility of Hyundai's Body Structure Engineer is very crucial because of the necessities to develop a base that meets all vehicle static and dynamic loads, protect occupants during real life impact, prevent corrosion to the vehicle, and lastly, maintain integrity of all components that complete a vehicle's interior and exterior design.

We need passionate engineers who want to be responsible for developing future vehicles and feel excitement in seeing their own developed designs on the road.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop structure components and systems for North America base new vehicles, including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
