Job Title: IT Specialist (Entry Level – Helpdesk)

 

Job Summary: The IT Specialist supports our bank’s technology environment by delivering quality technical assistance to employees and, when needed, to our customers. In this multi-faceted role, you will be responsible for first-level support, assisting in system and network administration, and contributing to IT and project management initiatives. This is an ideal position for an emerging IT professional eager to develop their technical skills and contribute to a secure and efficient banking operation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  Helpdesk

  • Provide computer support for employees, including directors and customers when necessary.
  • Deliver technical support for all hardware, software, and additional bank/office equipment.
  • Provide remote support for off-site users.
  • Contact vendors for support relating to the bank’s core system, online banking system, ancillary services/products, and IT infrastructure.
  • Assist with various technical issues across the organization.

  System/Network Administration

  • Monitor and maintain IT devices, including servers, workstations, network equipment, phone systems, and ATMs.
  • Install, implement, modify, upgrade, repair, and troubleshoot hardware and software.
  • Update systems, hardware, software, firmware, and other components regularly.
  • Manage user accounts across various systems.
  • Oversee employee onboarding (including training) and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain and update the company website.

  IT Management / Project Management

  • Participate in IT and non-IT projects across the organization.
  • Contribute as a member of planning committees for major projects, such as expansions and IT infrastructure changes or implementations.
  • Support vendor selection and IT procurement processes.
  • Review system reports to identify improvements and ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist the IT Manager with administrative tasks including strategic planning, policy and procedure development, project management, information security, regulatory exams and audits, annual testing, and preparation for management/board meetings.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent training in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Detail-oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Being able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
