Job Summary:

The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and

troubleshooting of mechanical systems and equipment within the facility. This role ensures that all

mechanical operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, contributing to the overall productivity of

the organization. The specialist will also participate in preventive maintenance programs and assist

in various projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

 Maintenance & Repair:

o Perform routine inspections and maintenance on mechanical systems, including

pumps, motors, compressors, and conveyors.

o Diagnose mechanical issues and execute repairs to minimize downtime and ensure

optimal performance.

o Replace worn or damaged components and perform necessary adjustments to

machinery.

 Preventive Maintenance:

o Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical

equipment.

o Document maintenance activities and update maintenance records to ensure

compliance with standards.

 Troubleshooting:

o Identify and troubleshoot mechanical failures quickly and effectively.

o Use diagnostic tools and techniques to assess mechanical problems and

recommend appropriate solutions.

 Collaboration & Support:

o Work closely with other maintenance team members and departments to address

equipment issues and optimize operations.

o Assist in training and mentoring junior maintenance staff as required.

 Safety & Compliance:

o Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.

o Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to mechanical

systems and equipment.

 Project Assistance:

o Participate in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and

equipment.

o Assist in capital improvement projects as directed by management.

Qualifications:

 Education:

o High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanical

maintenance preferred.

 Experience:

o Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field.

o Experience in [specific industry, if applicable] is a plus.

 Skills:

o Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.

o Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
