Job description for Security Manager
Summary
The Security Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the facility. The Security Manager carry out security tasks, conducts patrols, and support security improvement initiatives. Their primary responsibilities include performing routine security checks, troubleshooting security issues, and conducting preventive security activities. They respond promptly to security incidents and prioritize tasks to minimize disruption to facility operations. The Security Manager also maintains accurate records of security activities and collaborates with the security management team to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Their dedication to maintaining a safe and secure environment contributes to the overall success of the facility and supports the achievement of organizational objectives. The Security Manager is also accountable for responding to weekend or night incidents as required.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, information technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Relevant Experience: Several years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is required. Experience in supervisory or managerial roles is highly beneficial.
• Specialized Training: Completing formal security personnel training programs can be advantageous.
• Military or police background preferred but not required.
• A valid driver’s license
• Experience as a security manager or similar position
• Experience in using relevant technology and equipment, such as CCTV
• Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
• Knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Knowledge of security industry regulations
• Knowledge of budgeting and statistical data analysis
