Job Overview

iVision Eyecare is a new private practice in a growing area with an emphasis on creating a culture where patients and team members feel they are part of a family. Our optician will be responsible for the selling, fitting, and dispensing glasses and will initially be expected to answer phones, patient scheduling, insurance verification, and other tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis while providing a great interpersonal experience for our patients. We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the field, exceptional communication skills, is flexible as the office grows, has the ability to multitask, and most of all the passion to be instrumental in helping to lay the foundation for our growing company.

 

Candidate requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience in the optical field
• State optical license is highly recommended
• Familiarity working with many vision plans including Eyemed, Spectera, Davis Vision, VSP, etc.
• Great interpersonal and customer service skills
• The availability to work full-time including Saturdays
• The passion to assist in other tasks that aid in office efficiency and growth of the practice

 

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs.
• Perform fittings and adjustments for eyewear to ensure proper comfort and functionality.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including medical records and billing information, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with optometrists to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Have the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt in a variety of situations.
• Manage inventory of optical products and supplies, ensuring that the display is well-stocked and organized.
• Process insurance claims and handle medical billing efficiently.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage, including contact lens fitting and maintenance.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology to provide informed recommendations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

 

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
