Digestive Care Physicians LLC, a fast-paced gastroenterology office with many providers, is seeking a bilingual (Korean and English - fluently) Certified Medical Assistants.
Certified Medical Assistant Job Summary:
This position will handle most clerical and clinical functions for the office and the provider. They will accurately document necessary information related to the patient visit. Responsible for patient clinical triage and EMR charting documents, handling all patient phone calls and messages, acting as liaison between the patient and the provider, refilling and prior authorizations of all patient medications, preparation of back office clinical charts for daily schedule. They may also help in other areas of the practice when necessary. This position may require travel to multiple practice sites.
General Duties:
1. Run and triage patients during office clinic schedule-completion of Vitals, Reason for Visits, ROS, History and be able to give a brief summary to physicians.
2. Enter information into the EMR for the Assessment/Plan and E-Prescribing of medication to submit to the physician for approval and sign off.
3. Download faxes first thing in the morning, late morning, and mid-afternoon. 4. Coordinates the patient flow from the back office to check out as needed. 5. Completes all patient messages between the physician and the patients on a regular
basis. -Daily (will receive messages from support staff to review to assure proper messages are getting to the physician/will obtain any additional info for the physician)
6. Receives Clinical charts two days in advance and assures that all results are in the system- if not-will track them down and assure completed. If not she will cancel the appointment and reschedule it.
7. Scans necessary paperwork from into the EMR.
8. Monitors “Wait List” and REF weekly and assures there are no gaps in the clinical schedule. 9. Participates in the Kitchen Cleaning Rotation
10. Will perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Practice Administrator or physician. 11. Provides back office assistance in clinical triage and EMR documentation for other providers if necessary
12. Schedule patient appointments and answer phone calls
13. Patient Check in and registration
14. Collect co-pays
15. Review procedure prep with patient
Other Duties:
1. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
2. Must have a strong attention to detail
3. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation
4. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone and in writing
5. Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
6. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.
7. Commitment to high professional ethical standards
Qualifications:
1. At least 2 years experience as a MA or front office.
2. Certified Medical Assistant.
3. Must know medical terminology.
4. Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications and adapt to new environment.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of office procedures. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction. Medical terminology. Ability to develop goals, prioritize, organize and make most efficient use of time. Ability to use individual judgement to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to transfer knowledge in a precise manner.
You will be employed in our offices as full time Certified Medical Assistant/Office Float. The Practice’s office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday. However, job responsibilities may include times outside the practice hours. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, and PTO.
