Job: Human Resource Specialist
Classification

JOB DESCRIPTION


Summary/Objective

Under supervision, the human resource assistant performs work of moderate difficulty in human resources and benefits administration and performs related work as assigned.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Assists department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all company employees.
2. Assists in administration of the compensation program; helps monitor the performance appraisal process.
3. Participates in benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting and approving invoices for payment.
4. Participates in recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel (excluding managerial levels and above); helps coordinate the use of temporary employees.
5. Conducts new-employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks.
6. Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
7. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as needed.
8. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
9. Helps maintain company organization charts and the employee directory.
10. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervision responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel
No travel required

Required Education and Experience
1. A bachelor’s degree in human resource management, or one to two years’ experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Three or more year’s Human resource experience in this industry.
2. Bachelor’s degree in human resource management.
