Logistics Specialist (Procurement & Drayage Transportation)


*Candidate must be bi-lingual in English & Korean*

Reports to: Logistics Team Manager

Location: Dalton, GA (30 minutes outside of Chattanooga, TN and 60 minutes from metro Atlanta, GA)

SUMMARY

The Logistics Specialist (Procurement & Drayage Transportation) is responsible for supervising the raw material shipping operations to execute and control assigned (both) international forwarder (NVOCC) and container transportation company. They are responsible for monitoring all raw material shipments from South Korea and China to Hanwha Q CELLS USA, Inc. They ensure service and cost are met with the targets as well as define and implement the improvement projects. They manage all raw material transportation from the import port (Savannah, LA) to Hanwha Q CELLS USA, Inc. warehouse by searching and bidding for efficient trucking transport to reduce cost and defend irregular cost, such as demurrage and detention.



RESPONSIBILITIES

· Process all transport orders and daily transport planning with a focus on optimization of loads.

· Oversee the dispatching and scheduling of local shipments.

· Provide management and oversight regarding raw material inventory control.

· Regularly market shipment carrier sourcing and cost negotiation.

· Support plants with special/express shipments and late notice requests/changes.

· Support the evaluation and selection of new international forwarding companies.

· Process all transport orders and daily transport planning

· Transportation capacity planning for short and mid-term

· Creating reports and sharing related departmental content

· Regularly evaluation, selection of new transportation company and cost negotiation.

· Prevent irregular costs by monitoring Free time in CY (Demurrage/Detention)

· Monitor, identify, and implement improvement opportunities for cost and service

· Ensure compliance with government rules and regulations.

· Execute FTZ applications, bonds, and activation with CBP

· Inventory control for FTZ as well as performing record-keeping, and reporting.

· Analyze and prepare weekly estimated entry.

· Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hanwha Q CELLS.

Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree in related fields
0-2 years of supply chain operations with logistics experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access with strong analytical skills
Ability to work in cross functional teamwork environment with other areas of the business and providing on-site support as needed
Fluently speaking both English and Korean


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· CPIM, CSCP

· Strong knowledge of SCM and logistics

· Intern Experience in high-volume and multi-site distribution with a solid understanding of FMS, TMS/EPR systems highly desired
