Job Type: Full-time

 

Salary: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

  •        Schedule: Monday  Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm)  1hour lunch. (The schedule is subject to change in the future, and weekend work              may be required as needed.)

Summary
The Building Repair Manager oversees the maintenance and repair of industrial facilities, ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently and effectively. They work closely with various supervisors and contractors to coordinate repair activities, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include developing maintenance schedules, overseeing repair projects, managing vendor contracts, and ensuring the timely completion of all repair work. The Building Repair Manager also plays a key role in emergency response planning, facility inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility performance and safety.
 
 
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Qualifications
  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  State-approved contractor license preferred, but not required.
  Over 7 years of professional experience in industrial facility maintenance and repair.  
  Experience with managing large-scale repair projects in an industrial setting. 
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

§  Knowledge

  In-depth knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.

  Understanding of industrial facility operations and maintenance practices.

  Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to building maintenance and repair.

  Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality control procedures.

  Understanding of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

 

§  Skills

  Strong technical skills to diagnose and repair building systems.

  Excellent project management skills to oversee multiple repair projects simultaneously.

  Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.

  Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders.

  Ability to develop and manage budgets for repair and maintenance activities.

  Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency repair situations.

  Strong analytical skills to assess facility conditions and prioritize repair needs.

  Leadership skills to manage and motivate a team of maintenance technicians.

    Examples: For a Building Repair Manager, supervisory duties might include conducting performance evaluations, assigning tasks, and resolving conflicts within the team. 

 

 

Essential Functions

1. Team Supervision: Oversee a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring they perform their duties effectively and efficiently.

2. Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise within the team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

3. Safety Oversight: Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and procedures.

4. Resource Management: Manage the allocation of tools, equipment, and materials.

5. Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication within the team and with other departments, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned on goals and priorities. 

6. Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and take corrective action when necessary.

 

 

Physical Demands

1. Mobility: Ability to move around the facility, including climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding to inspect and oversee repair work.

2. Lifting: Occasionally lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

3. Manual Dexterity: Use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and perform precise repair tasks.

4. Standing and Walking: Spend a significant amount of time standing and walking, especially when supervising repair activities and conducting inspections.

5. Bending and Stooping: Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch to access and repair building systems and components.

6. Vision: Good visual acuity to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents, and to inspect repair work for quality and safety.

7. Hearing: Ability to hear alarms, machinery sounds, and verbal instructions in a noisy industrial environment.

8. Environmental Conditions: Work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to outdoor weather, dust, fumes, and noise. 

9. Emergency Response: Be physically capable of responding quickly to emergency situations, which may involve rapid movement and physical exertion.
