Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our automotive parts 3PL facility located in Savannah, Georgia. This facility handles not only traditional warehousing and distribution functions but also includes repacking operations and subassembly processes for key automotive components.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of warehouse operations, supervising multiple team leaders, and ensuring that logistics, repackaging, and production activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, shipping, repacking, and subassembly functions.
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of approximately 15 employees, including supervisors and team leads for shipping/receiving, repackaging, and subassembly groups.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and on-time delivery to customers.
- Implement and monitor operational KPIs (productivity, accuracy, safety, and quality).
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure operational requirements and service levels are consistently met.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and all applicable federal/state regulations.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency, cost control, and workflow optimization.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across functional areas.
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process improvements.
- Coordinate with HR and upper management on staffing, training, and performance management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in warehouse, logistics, or 3PL operations; automotive industry experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing multi-functional teams.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of subassembly or light manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and inventory control practices.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
