Position Overview
The Operations Manager oversees and manages all aspects of the company’s operational activities. This role includes coordinating the warehouse, office, transportation, and inventory teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely receipt of goods from overseas and delivery to customers. The Operations Manager also leads the development and execution of strategies to optimize processes, improve productivity, reduce costs, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and maintain a safe working environment.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong business acumen and a proven track record of leading diverse teams and individuals to achieve operational excellence. This individual brings clear communication skills, financial and systems expertise, and fosters a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Objectives of this Role
- Ensure smooth daily operations through clear communication with managers, staff, customers, and vendors
- Monitor and enforce quality assurance protocols to maintain consistency and compliance
- Drive efficiency in processes and systems to strengthen internal capacity and operational performance
- Ensure all operational activities are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards
- Assess staffing needs, support hiring efforts, and contribute to workforce development initiatives
- Provide support to accounting operations, including invoice handling and reconciliation
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including procurement, sales, and customer service—to align distribution strategies with business objectives
- Lead and support a diverse team of warehouse personnel, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and high performance
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize productivity, reduce costs, and improve service levels
- Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring accuracy in stock levels, order fulfillment, and shipping activities
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement across logistics operations
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, while maintaining a safe and secure working environment
- Manage transportation planning and related expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in logistics or distribution
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate diverse teams to achieve operational excellence
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, customers, and vendors. Must be fluent in both written and spoken English and Korean.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems and other relevant operational software tools
- Inventory management system (Finale Inventory)
- A Suite of productivity applications (Microsoft 365 Business Apps)
- Supply Chain Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of supply chain management principles and industry best practices
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze data, evaluate performance, and implement effective strategies for process improvement and efficiency gains
Experience
- Proven management experience with a strong background in supervising teams and leading organizational change
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning and executing business development strategies
- Background in project management, process optimization, and implementing operational efficiencies
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Prior experience in sales or business development roles is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential for success in this role
