Position Overview:
As a Procurement Specialist at KB Link, you will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement operations and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and supplies required for our construction projects. You will work closely with our Procurement Manager & Director to streamline the purchasing process and maintain accurate records of transactions.
Responsibilities:
Vendor Communication:
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and verify product availability.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify potential new suppliers for various construction materials.
Purchase Order Management:
• Assist in the creation and processing of purchase orders based on project requirements and budget constraints.
• Ensure purchase orders are accurate and up to date, and that they meet project specifications.
• Enter invoice information into the appropriate system and perform quality assurance checks with onsite managers, communicate with vendors regarding any missing materials.
Inventory Control:
• Monitor and track inventory levels of construction materials and supplies.
• Collaborate with project and site managers to determine inventory deliveries and quantities to ensure project timelines are followed.
Cost Analysis:
• Assist in conducting cost analysis and comparisons to identify cost-effective purchasing options.
• Evaluate supplier performance and provide input on supplier selection.
Record Keeping:
• Maintain comprehensive records of all purchasing activities, including invoices, receipts, and contracts.
• Prepare and submit reports on purchasing trends and expenses as needed.
Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that all purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications.
• Address any quality issues promptly and collaborate with suppliers to resolve them.
Budget Management:
• Assist in monitoring and managing the procurement budget.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and report to the Procurement Manager.
Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices in procurement.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role, construction industry is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge about Accounts Receivable/Payable
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and procurement software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Knowledge of construction materials and suppliers is a plus, but not required.
