Position Summary
Operations Specialist/Supervisor는 조지아주 엘라벨(Ellabell, GA)에 위치한 현대자동차그룹 제조공장(Hyundai Motor Group Manufacturing Plant)에서 근무하며, Transportation Operations Manager를 지원하여 야드(Yard), 셔틀(Shuttle), 로컬 운송(Local Delivery) 운영 전반을 관리하는 역할을 수행합니다.
이 포지션은 현장 중심의 리더 역할로서 드라이버 관리, 셔틀 스케줄 모니터링, 생산 라인 부품 공급 유지, 그리고 안전 및 운영 기준 준수를 책임집니다.
또한 운영 보고(Operation Reporting), 장비 운영 조율(Equipment Coordination), 고객 커뮤니케이션(Customer Communication) 업무를 지원하며, 현대자동차 및 글로비스(Hyundai & Glovis)의 운영 요구사항과 서비스 수준을 지속적으로 충족할 수 있도록 관리합니다.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Support
- Oversee daily yard, shuttle, and switching operations to ensure on-time delivery to the assembly line.
- Monitor trailer/container flows, yard inventory, and returnable assets (carts, racks, dollies).
- Assign daily schedules and equipment to drivers based on operational needs.
- Step in to assist with shuttle/yard moves during peak or time-critical periods.
2. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety guidelines and plant-specific safety procedures.
- Conduct pre-shift safety briefings and daily compliance checks.
- Ensure trailers/containers are properly secured and handled per DOT/OSHA and plant standards.
- Support Transportation Operations Manager in site safety audits and corrective actions.
3. People Supervision
- Directly supervise drivers and yard staff; provide day-to-day coaching and guidance.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and continuous development of team members.
- Monitor driver attendance, performance, and adherence to schedules.
- Escalate performance or disciplinary issues to the Transportation Operations Manager.
4. Customer & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as point-of-contact for Glovis and plant floor teams for operational issues.
- Communicate shuttle/yard status, delays, or incidents promptly.
- Support Transportation Operations Manager in maintaining customer satisfaction levels.
5. Reporting & Administration
- Track daily KPIs such as on-time delivery, safety compliance, and equipment utilization.
- Assist with preparation of weekly invoices and supporting documentation.
- Provide data and input for operational reports and performance reviews.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping of driver logs, yard activity, and asset usage.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma / G.E.D.
- 5+ years of direct logistics, transportation, or yard management experience
- 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role
- Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- 7+ years of logistics/yard/shuttle operations experience
- CDL-A license with hands-on shuttle/yard driving experience
Knowledge / Skills / Attributes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities with frontline employees.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under time-sensitive conditions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Customer-focused, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Measurable Goals (KPI)
- On-Time Performance: ≥ 98% on-time shuttle and yard moves.
- Safety & Compliance: Zero preventable safety violations; ≥ 95% participation in safety briefings.
- Operational Accuracy: Maintain 100% accuracy in trailer/container assignments and yard inventory records.
- People Management: Driver/yard staff retention ≥ 90%; 100% completion of training/onboarding tasks.
- Customer Satisfaction: ≥ 95% satisfaction rating from plant/Glovis operational contacts.
- Reporting Accuracy: Weekly KPI and activity reporting completed with ≥ 98% accuracy.
