IT Supervisor

[Job Summary]

IT Supervisor is responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications, providing specialized technical and business knowledge of the project. The incumbent of this job acts as an internal consultant, providing technical guidance or business process expertise on projects or planning from a technical standpoint.

[Supervisory Responsibilities]

Accomplishes department objectives by supervising 1-2 employees and organizing and monitoring work processes.
Accomplishes employee job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Involves scheduling, direct supervision, and evaluation of work as a first-line supervisor over regular employees.
Recommends personnel actions such as hiring, firing, discipline, and
pay/classification changes for supervised employees

[Duties / Responsibilities]

Builds efficient, tastable, reusable PHP programming codes and utilizes back-end data services to integrate into the web applications.
Builds reusable and sustainable Javascript codes and ensure the feasibility of the web design. Enhances the performance of the website and modify specifications or designs for complex functions when necessary.
Implements and optimizes the computerized database systems that support various
Company applications on a daily basis. Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Review database design and integration of systems provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
Participates in and lead IT projects
Performs other related duties as assigned.

[Required Skills/Abilities]

Advanced skills in database software (MySQL and Oracle)
Advanced skills in Gig, PHP, SQL, and LAMP
Advanced skills in MySQL database design and administration
Advanced skills in Restful API development
Advanced skills in web integration using REST, XML, and SOAP
Advanced skills in AJAX application
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem identification and solving skills
Excellent analytical skills
Bilingual in English/Korean preferred

[Position Detail]
Partial telecommuting optional with 3-4 days of work per week in the office

[Education and Experience]
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
5-8 years of professional experience related to software development
Experience with Front-End programs such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

[Physical Requirements]

Must be able to remain in a stationary position over 70% of the time and constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machineries, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
The person in this position frequently communicates with business partners and employees who have inquiries about technical issues.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
